Abstract

This study has as aim to discuss the concept of madness presented in “The Praise of Folly” by Erasmo of Rotterdam. It deals about a study of theoretical reflection with a view to identify what the author thinks about it, with a look historical-critic from past. The madness, worked in the text as a character presents in the society and, in special, in the human behaviors, is going to be a base constituent of the presentation of the ideas of Erasmo concerning renaissance humanism.
