Educational Program Of Nursing Schools And The Curriculum Of School Of Nurses Of Hospital São Paulo

For this research, history-documental it was object of this comparison between the propositions of Educational Program of Nursing Schools of International Council of Nursing (ICN)of 1934 and the first Curriculum of School of Nurses of Hospital São Paulo (SNHSP), initiated in 1939. For this research, was used the text of ICN in portuguese version, dated of 1945, and the publication historical about SNHSP.
The results evidenced that in the proposition of ICN, the formation should be oriented for six main areas that figured in curriculum of SNHSP too, although with another organization. In the proposal of ICN in the course should have 4890 hours distributed in 3 years, while the first curriculum of SNHSP had 2 years and 4 months with hourly load at 5200 hours. The 310 hours more in the curriculum of
SNHSP could be equivalent in the proposal of ICN the optional activities. The both, in first year, were administrated discipline focused on knowledge of the human body and its functioning, beyond questions concerning the History of Nursing and Ethics. In other periods the attention turned toward a professional qualification in care, in the different moments of assistance. It was concluded that there was convergence on the two proposals of preparation of nurses, in terms of hourly load and disciplines, which suggests the probable observance of the prescription contained in document of ICN for establishing and implementing the teaching program of SNHSP.
